Description

The site is a single agricultural field extending approximately 11.88 acres that slopes down from south to north facing the urban edge of Eckington. Located to the west of Staveley Lane from where a new access will be taken and close to the existing residential streets of Lansbury Road, Barratt Road and Ducksett Lane to the north. The existing Setcup Lane allotments form the northern and western sides of the site.

Location

Eckington is a thriving town in North East Derbyshire close to the South Yorkshire border with a population of approximately 11,000. It is connected by rail to Sheffield, with the nearby Halfway tram stop providing regular services into the City, and by road to Sheffield and beyond, with Junction 30 of the M1 motorway within 3 miles.

Renishaw Hall is located to the south of Eckington and to the east of the development site. Built in 1625 by George Sitwell, the Hall is Grade 1 listed building with extensive gardens open to the public including the Italianate garden laid out in the 19th century.

The Peak District National Park is located within 10 miles of the site providing opportunities for many outdoor activities, including hill walking and hiking, water sports and air sports.
