The Location

The site is situated on the Northern Tip of Ripley Town in Derbyshire and covers an area of approximately 5.9 acres.  It is bounded by the Midland Railway Butterley Museum Line to the North. This is a busy local tourist attraction and the trust is dedicated to preserving locomotives. They operate a number of events annually that are extremely popular, On the North West of the site runs the A38, Butterley Reservoir to the East, existing offices and warehousing to the South and Playing fields to the South West. The site is accessed from Asher Lane.

 

The Market Town of Ripley has a past steeped in Industry. It was mentioned in the doomsday book as Ripelie and is situated just 20 miles from the stunning Peak District National Nature Reserve. The site lies 8 miles to the North of Derby City Centre and 14 miles North West of Nottingham City Centre.

 

Ripley Town has a wide range of services and facilities including 4 doctor’s surgery’s, schools, shops, post office, fast food outlets, public houses, schools and a leisure centre with gym facilities and swimming pool.  The area is well suited to families as there are many tourist attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom and The Heights of Abraham in nearby Matlock, and for golf enthusiasts Ormonde Fields Golf Club is just 2 miles to the South West of the site. This is a challenging 18 hole course laid out in 140 acres of parkland. It boasts wonderful views over the Derbyshire countryside and has a wide range of wildlife.

 

3 bus routes operate within the vicinity of the site and travel to areas including Derby, East Midlands Designer Outlet and Mansfield.

 

Ripley Town is well connected, the A38 runs to the North West of the site and junction 26 of the M1 is 11 miles to the East making major employment locations such as Derby, Sheffield, Birmingham and Leeds easily assessable by car. East Midlands airport can be reached in 30 minutes by car.
